ATTENTION GEORGIA STATE AND PERDUE MEN!
Andrew Paspalas would like to hear from any member of the ASTP who knew PFC George Sarandes, a friend of Andrew's father. Sarandes was assigned to the ASTP STAR Unit at Georgia State Teachers College (SCU No. 3414) from October 1943 through December 1943, where he was a member of FAL 705 (Foreign Area Language for Greek). When the ASTP Language Program was disbanded in January of 1944, Sarandes was transferred to the ASTP at Purdue University, where he studied engineering. When Purdue's ASTP Unit was disbanded in March of 1944, Sarandes joined Company F of the 407th Infantry Regiment of the 102nd Infantry Division.
